LodgeLink was recently featured in Calgary Economic Development's 'Live Tech, Love Life' series where the story profiles LodgeLink's foundations, growth, and diversification into new target industries and end markets.

Calgary’s tech and innovation ecosystem is rapidly growing and hiring across all industrial sectors. Aligned with innovation goals in the city’s economic strategy, Calgary in the New Economy, the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) approved up to $3 million to LodgeLink to support the creation of 300 technical roles and an equal number of commercial and administrative positions over five years.

When LodgeLink received backing from OCIF in 2020, our platform listed 2,000 hotels and lodges representing 200,000 rooms. Now, we have grown to more than 7,300 properties representing approximately 697,000 rooms.

With LodgeLink’s hiring initiatives to rapidly expand the local team, many tech workers are relocating to Calgary, incentivized by the inclusive culture and the city’s livability. In fact, Calgary recently ranked the third most livable city in the world, and first in North America by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
